Wenyu Wang is a doctoral student in Biomedicine at the University of Helsinki, under the supervision of assistant professor Jing Tang. His thesis project focused on integrating various types of functional perturbation data to identify cancer vulnerabilities and drug mechanisms. Wenyu obtained his master degrees in epidemiology and health statistics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2017. After that, he received a 1.5 year rotation position granted by FIMM-EMBL international PhD program. During this period, he got interested in applying data science techniques in the context of preclinical cancer drug development and developed his thesis project with Tang group. Currently he is working actively as an early stage researcher at the Research Program in Systems Oncology, with a position funded by the Doctoral School in Health Sciences at the University.
